Lynn used a process of Tea Painting where tea and water create spontaneous, meaningful markings. His oil paintings complement these abstract backgrounds, resulting in captivating and expressive artworks that tell stories beyond words.
Lynn would wet the watercolor paper with water and sprinkle instant tea over it. And wait and watch the tea dry. When paper is wet it warps so that there are high and low areas for the tea to pool or run off. Once the tea and paper are dry he would look at it to see what it tells him. He then would paint the figures with oil paints. He never really knew what he was going to paint until the tea was dry.
